Sam Al-Hamdani
Sam lives in Lees with his wife and daughter. As a local councillor, he has worked hard working with local people and fellow councillors to help build stronger communities in the villages, so that people can get things done themselves.
In the ward, he has worked hard to deliver road safety solutions, pressuring the council into 20mph roads, and new safety measures, as well as working to deliver a school streets trial at Medlock Way.
He has also prioritised work for the environment, whether that is wildflower meadows, and improving the local walking routes, or protecting green spaces such as Stonebreaks and at Maltby Court, or across the borough, forcing the Council to commit to removing investment in fossil fuels through the pension fund, and driving forward tree-planting schemes.

Alicia Marland
I have loved living in Saddleworth for over 30 years and my children have enjoyed attending the local schools. I've been an active Trustee and committee member of the Grotton Residents Association for over 20 years and it's here that I was first introduced to my local Councillor and I saw the proactive work that they did in the community.
Their work inspired me to stand for election as a Borough Councillor in 2022 and since being elected, I've been able to work in all villages in my ward.
My priorities are to help residents when they need assistance, work with the community on introducing speed enforcement measures and ensure my colleagues and I tackle any threat to our take our green spaces.
